Thanks to the support of one of our operational partners (MAF Mission Aviation Fellowship), we were able to charter 141 Kg of medical equipment (PPE from WHO and Ministry of Health) and biological samples (at the request of the CNOSSE) at Tuléar and Fort-Dauphin.
Since the declaration of health emergency in Madagascar, national flights are no longer authorized. This flight was able to take place thanks to the authorizations issued by the ACM (Civil Aviation of Madagascar) with the support of the BNGRC.
At the request of WHO and facilitated by WFP, a solidarity flight was organized from Ethiopia to charter medical supplies and equipment for government support in response to Covid-19.
At the request of WHO, logistical support to facilitate the establishment of the CCO's inventories and medical inventory management system was provided. A call for volunteers was made within the LWG network to which ACF (Action Against Hunger) and Medair responded positively.
Since the establishment of the CCO (Operational Command Center) to respond to the Covid-19 situation in Madagascar, the BNGRC has requested the support of the LWG in order to support various logistical support activities.
As part of WFP's mandate, a request from Medair as permitted to provide warehousing service provision in Tamatave for Wash kits in order to respond to Covid 19 in Atsinanana region.
As part of its food distribution activities at national level, WFP has initiated the distribution of PPE for all WFP contracted transporters. Each truck receives 4 masks, 1 bottle of hydroalcoholic gel and 1 jerrycan of disinfectant.

The humanitarian air service managed by the World Food Programe ensures the continuation of humanitarian aid and allows humanitarian and health workers to travel and reach vulnerable populations
